MICHAEL’S METHODS AND PHILOSOPHY
I believe organisations are possibly the world’s most underutilised resource for solving many of the challenges facing human beings on this wonderful planet we are all lucky enough to live on and call home.
I believe organisations are underutilised as many, maybe even most, companies have failed to tap into or even understand what I consider to be humanity’s best invention, Culture.
I also believe, to a large extent organisations do not even like people. If they could manage to make a profit without employing people or serving them as customers or relying on them as suppliers – they would jump at the chance. Organisations seem to see people as problematic, and a performance-hindering liability. Because of this, organisations go out of their way in an attempt to control this perceived risk factor of dealing with humans. The result is disengaged employees and disappointed customers. It doesn’t have to be this way. I have worked with hundreds of organisations in my years as a corporate anthropologist and have seen time and time again, that with the right approach to culture and with a passionate and capable leadership team, organisation’s cultures can be ignited to deliver outrageous levels of performance, and deep and meaningful levels of fulfilment.
When human culture is fully engaged it creates a powerful source of energy, creativity, collaboration, solutions, empathy, compassion and endeavour. A powerful culture will light the way forward, warm the heart, and put a fire in the belly. I am committed to work with and share my knowledge and insights on human culture with organisations that are fully committed to working effectively, collaboratively and productively with their people with the intent of serving others.
