Why Company Culture

Company culture is now accepted as being critical to business performance. As research has shown, culture is on average eight times more influential than strategy in determining business performance outcomes. In fact company culture is so impactful that when it becomes misaligned with business strategy, culture performs just as your toughest competitor. It effects quality, reputation, speed, customer focus, productivity and value! When culture is misaligned with the business, the results can be catastrophic.

Consider the fact that it was not the competitors of Enron, Refco, Worldcom and Arthur Anderson's that put them out of business. It was their own culture. In tougher economic times it has become all the more urgent for leaders in today's organizations to understand and master workplace culture. Consider the global engagement surveys of staff satisfaction, on average indicate that only 20% of staff are engaged.

The balance are indifferent or even disengaged in their work!Based on such figures it seems too many organizations are failing at culture! The priority of workplace culture in business has never been more critical!

Yet many leaders and managers receive training and development in such areas such as strategic planning, risk management, quality assurance, marketing, and budgeting, few if any, have ever been taught how to think culturally and act accordingly.
