Recent Work On Culture in the WorkplaceThe confidential nature of the work i do with clients, does not lend itself to me making detailed information public. However, I have listed here, in general terms, some recent workplace culture initiatives i have undertaken for clients. Thought LeadershipI am currently delivering the ‘Thought Leader Enterprise' curriculum and the ‘Thought Leadership Advantage’ curriculum within client organisations in Australia and New Zealand. Even though we are still working through the ‘introductory’ modules on both programmes, it is becoming obvious to participants that what they are learning and applying will dramatically change how they and their organisation can be perceived in the marketplace. Culture MappingDoes your organisation have a strategic plan or business plan? Stupid question right! Of course it does. Here’s the kicker. Does it have a Culture plan? Examples include; Mapped the culture for a large internal professional services organizations spread over four contents to evaluate their cultural differences and degree of alignment. Chiefing Your TribeIn the first three months of this year i've already run 4 Chiefing Your Tribe workshops. With a variety of leaders form across industry types. Most leaders know how to manage and lead a business or strategy. Many do not understand or know how to lead the organisations culture ! This workshop shows them how. This project required the senior managers and branch managers in this organization in Cultural Pathways to leverage their employee engagement and increase staff retention by over 300%. Knowledge TransferIn this project we trained 22 people in the organization in Culture Planning. The client is focusing their efforts on mapping the cultures of various internal departments to identify ways to resolve silo conflicts. The client is also using the same approach to build its employment brand proposition. KeynoteI love how busy I am delivering the ‘Get Tribal’ and ‘Chiefing Your Tribe’ keynote. I spoke at the Sydney and Auckland TED X conferences on “Why companies are failing at culture.” The talks were very well received and key points I made during the talks were met with spontaneous applause. I also spoke to a standing room only gathering of C.E.O and Directors on “How to leverage culture during tough times”, for an event on behalf of Kerridge and Partners. Culture & Strategy Alignment;Ongoing work with a large Australian legal firm to map their culture, educate their leadership team and align their culture to their growth strategy. Black Belt SalesCurrently working with an Australian client and taking their entire sales force (spread across 3 states) though this unique sales programme. They chose this programme because they recognised the need to build sales cultures aligned with the country’s culture This ‘cultural alignment’ is critical for developing high sales performance, and would seem obvious, yet research I've conducted shows, amongst other things; I am currently working with two separate organizations to create a deliberate and focused sales culture. Both organizations are responding to changing economic circumstances and are committed to building what I refer to as a “ Ferocious sales culture”. This is not ferocious in a violence context but Ferocious in a tribal context. In this context Ferocious means to surrender your fears. Or in sales lingo, Handle your own objections before you meet and manage the customers! |
